The Patrick County Economic Development Authority (EDA) will hold a special called meeting at 6 p.m. in the second-floor conference room of the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Building to review a façade grant application from the owner of Clay & Twig, hear their presentation, and take action on whether to approve the application and eventual reimbursement of façade renovations.

Wednesday, Nov. 12
The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold its distribution day from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Stuart site, from 8-10 a.m. at Fellowship Church in Ararat, and starting at 5:30 p.m. at the community building in Meadows of Dan.
Thursday, Nov. 13
The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group meets at 11 a.m. in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field. Entertainment will be provided by Philip Adams, and the Reynolds Homestead will provide the meal. Attendees are requested to bring desserts to share.
Stuart Baptist Church will hold a community dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Everyone’s invited to enjoy the homecooked meal.
The first Stuart Stockn’ Stroll, a pre-Christmas event, will be held from 5-8 p.m., and includes multiple uptown and downtown vendors. Maps will be provided by the Patrick County Visitor’s Center and shoppers will be able to take receipts from store to store for additional discounts and gifts. There will be snack and beverage vendors including the Sugar Shack, and strolling minstrels from the local area. A drawing will be held for the grand prize stocking, compliments of the participating retailers.

The Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department will hold a meal from 4-6:30 p.m. Plates are $10 each. Dine in and take out options are available. To place an order, call (276) 930-2113. At 7 p.m. there will be a cash raffle with a grand prize of $2,500, 16 prizes of $100 each, and two prizes of $200 each. The cash raffle tickets are $20 each. The Patrick County VA250 Commemoration Committee in partnership with the Blue Ridge PBS will host a preview screening of the upcoming documentary by Ken Burns, “The American Revolution.” A roundtable discussion will follow with local historians commenting on the film’s content and answering questions from the audience. Better Life Ministries are having a worship night at 6 p.m. at 32099 Jeb Stuart Highway, Spencer.
The Patrick County Historical Society will hold its annual general membership meeting at 2:30 p.m. at the museum. The program will feature a display of an encampment and a discussion of the life experienced by American Revolutionary War soldiers conducted by the local Sons of the American Revolution group. The Patrick County Democratic Committee will meet at 11 a.m. at the Patrick County Library. Reorganization of the committee will be discussed.
Saturday, Nov. 29
The Patrick County High School Class of 1995’s 30th class reunion will be held at the Legacy at Hatcher Farm from 6-10 p.m. for dinner, dancing, and catching up. Business casual attire. Tickets are $5 per person, and the event is working on a cash bar setup. Each attendee will be responsible for alcoholic beverage costs. Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price.
