Patrick Springs/Hardin Reynolds’ grade 3–5 youth tackle football team closed out its regular season undefeated Saturday, finishing 6–0 and outscoring opponents 169–28.
Head coach Mike Young credited the players for staying locked in all season.
“I was very fortunate to be able to coach this year and even more so, be their coach,” Young said. “We were able to keep the schools together on one team, unlike every year where there are so many kids to sign up for a sport, the Patrick County Parks and Recreation have to split Patrick Springs and Hardin Reynolds into two teams. (This is a) special group of young boys and I couldn’t be prouder. They did everything we asked of them, elevated their game and rose to every occasion.”
