Two men have been arrested and one is wanted in connection with a case of robbery and malicious wounding that occurred in the county-line area of Patrick County Feb. 7, according to Sheriff Dan Smith.
Smith said the three suspects—David Wayne Gilley, 40, of Patrick Springs, John Henry McBride, 36, of Bassett, and Andy Lee Mullins, 52, of Bassett—met at Gilley’s residence, supposedly to buy firewood.
The three suspects allegedly took money from two victims and beat them with a baseball bat.
The victims were able to get away in a vehicle without incurring any additional injuries, Smith said.
Gilley was arrested Feb. 8 on two counts of brandishing a firearm and one count of robbery.
McBride was arrested Feb. 8 and charged with robbery, malicious wounding, and property damage.
Warrants are outstanding for Mullins, who is wanted on charges of robbery and malicious wounding, Smith said.
Deputy Oscar Tejeda was the investigating officer on the case. State Trooper K.D. Mabe made the arrests.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the location of Mullins is asked to call Sheriff Smith at 692-7012.
