Mrs. Ruby Ellen Conner Jones, age 78 of Meadows of Dan, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Commonwealth Senior Living in Hillsville, VA. She was born in Patrick County, VA on October 3, 1942 to the late Q. D. Conner and Ella Boyd Conner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Allen Jones; a stepdaughter, Cynthia L. Jones; one grandson, Robert Mitchell Jones. Ruby retired from Mabry’s Mill where she had worked for many years as a waitress. She was a member of Conner’s View Primitive Baptist Church and had participated in many community events. Ruby had a smile that would brighten anyone’s day. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Martin Dean Hylton of Hillsville, VA; a stepson and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Jones of Lake City, FL; six grandchildren, Marc Jones and wife, Samantha, Brandi Gravely and husband, Nolan, Jessica Warren and husband, Jamie, Jordan Hylton-Risden and husband, David, Carmen Ramantanin and husband, Jason, Carla Fell and husband, Stephen; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, David Conner and wife, Colleen of Meadows of Dan, VA; one sister, Brenda Conner Moore and husband, Doug of Manson, NC; and eight nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the Boyd Family Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Hospice Chaplin Robbie Vance officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
