Mrs. Delcie Rorrer Belcher, age 91 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Patrick County on April 27, 1929 to the late Coy Rorrer and Maude Belcher Rorrer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Belcher; one daughter, Janice Spence; one sister, Hollis Fain; and four brothers, Allen, Donnie, Melvin, and Marvin Rorrer. Delcie loved working with her husband in the orchard, gardening, and quilting. She loved being outdoors and was a member of Conner’s View Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving are two grandsons, Dennis Spence, Kevin Spence both of Stuart; one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Spence; one great-great-granddaughter, Alexis Spence; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evadale and Hubert Lyon of Woolwine, Linda and Herman Fain of Patrick Springs; one brother, Bernice Rorrer of Bassett; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Belcher will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Eddie Bunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
