The Miss Crooked Road Scholarship Pageant Committee announces its search for contestants for the second annual scholarship pageant to be held Sunday, January 29, at the Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount.
The Miss Crooked Road Pageant is an open preliminary to the Miss Virginia and Miss America pageants. A contestant may qualify if she lives, works or attends school in the state of Virginia.
Contestants cannot have been married or have had a child. They must also be from 17 to 24 years of age. A 17-year-old contestant must be a rising senior who will graduate with the class of 2017 and a 24-year-old contestant must not turn 25 before October 1, 2017.
In addition to the Miss competition, the pageant will also feature the Miss Crooked Road Outstanding Teen Pageant for ages 13-17.
Contestants in each of the pageant divisions will be judged in talent, interview, physical fitness and evening gown competitions.
Cash and in-kind college scholarships will be awarded with the winners advancing to represent this area in the Miss Virginia Pageant held in Roanoke in late June 2017.
