Beginning January 9, the Patrick County site of Patrick Henry Community College is partnering with Wytheville Community College to offer truck driving classes.
This six-week truck driving program includes a combination of classroom lecture, skills range, and on-the-road driving to prepare students for the Commercial Drive License (CDL) exam. The class meets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday from January 9 to February 24. Space is limited and registration is now open.
The class is eligible for the Workforce Credential Grant which enables qualifying students to pay only one-third of the cost of tuition. It normally costs $4,500, but successful completion of the class could be earned for a maximum of $1,500 with the grant, and additional financial assistance is available to assist students with those remaining costs.
