Brightspeed is expanding its support of Patrick & Henry Community College students through a year-long partnership with the Patrick & Henry Community College Foundation for the 2026-27 academic year.
The partnership includes a $2,500 student scholarship, sponsorship of the college’s athletic program and P&HCC Productions’ summer show, “Trolls Jr.,” as well as support for the Patriot Pantry.
The scholarship will be awarded this fall to one student and can be used toward tuition. To qualify, students must be enrolled in or enrolling at Patrick & Henry Community College, have a GPA of at least 2.5 and live in Martinsville, Collinsville, Fieldale, Horsepasture, Ridgeway, Axton or Stuart.
The company also is providing new equipment and uniforms for the P&HCC athletic program and helping provide pre- and post-game meals for student-athletes. Its logo will be displayed on Wingett Court in Stone Hall during volleyball and basketball games.
The Patriot Pantry has served 114 students through 267 visits in 2026, distributing 4,134.4 pounds of food. Brightspeed’s support will help the pantry provide food and hygiene items to students.
The company also sponsored P&HCC Productions’ summer production of DreamWorks’ “Trolls Jr.” The production involved 57 participants, who worked with props and set pieces and received snacks through the sponsorship.
