The Patrick County Seniors met at the John D. Hooker building on August 13, with 119 in attendance. Charles Bowman, with his usual line-up of a variety of musical entertainment including Lester Flatt’s “Backing up to Birmingham,” provided a very enjoyable performance.
Birthday gifts and door prizes were given and a report regarding the COA program at Reynolds Homestead was presented. Free blood-pressure checks were available from BRTC and Landmark.
The hit of the day, a delicious lunch consisting of desserts and salads donated by the attendees was then enjoyed by all. A special thanks goes out to Judy Lacks and the planning committee, the Patrick County Recreation Department and the Stuart Rotary Club for making this delightful event available. The Seniors luncheon will not be held in September due to scheduling of the Patrick County Fair.
