The shoe drive fundraiser hosted by the Rotary Club of Stuart runs through Oct. 31. The Rotary Club of Stuart will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will directly benefit CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Trust).
Collection boxes are currently set up in Stuart at:
Town Office of Stuart, 100 Patrick Avenue
Patrick County Library, 116 W. Blue Ridge Street
Tony’s Pizza & Pub, 402 Patrick Avenue
A new collection site will be the upcoming Patrick County Agricultural Fair which runs Sept. 15-19. Collection boxes will be at the front gate so please be sure to bring any unwanted shoes and drop them off as you enter the fairgrounds.
Rotary is an international network of over 1.4 million people who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe. The Stuart Rotary Club is one of 46,000 clubs worldwide and we are a very active group of community members and business leaders who focus on service above self by making a positive difference in our community. CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1995 by fellow Rotarian, Roger Ackerman. Every penny raised goes directly to research on Alzheimer’s Disease.
