Mrs. Brenda Sue Turner, age 73 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia, passed away peacefully at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.  She was born in Meadows of Dan on September 28, 1953, to the late Glenn Ellis Turner and Margaret Wood Turner.  Brenda found great joy in the simple things that made life special.  She was a prolific reader, loved spending time scrapbooking and crafting, working on puzzles and collecting her beloved Longaberger Baskets.  Some of her happiest memories were made while hosting “Camp Grandma,” creating special moments and lasting memories with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed spending time with friends and sharing new experiences along the way.  Above all, her greatest joy was her family and friends.

Left to cherish the memories of Brenda are her husband, Mark Crook of the home; six children, Joe Maloney of Morristown, TN, Mike Maloney (Heather) of Columbia MD, Kathy Maloney of Odenton, MD, Mike Crook (Stephanie) of Jessup, MD, Matt Crook (Mollie) of Austinville, VA, and Sarah Crouse (Matt) of Gambrills, MD; eleven grandchildren, Makayla, Braeden, Sydney, Teagan, Michael, Sophia, Marissa, Memphis, Mylie, Madison, and Matthew; two brothers, Douglas Turner (Terry) of Meadows of Dan, VA and Clyde Turner (Josee) of Dumfries, VA; and several nieces, nephews, close friends and of course their dog, Harley.

A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Turner will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Shawn Carter officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 911, Meadows of Dan, VA  24120.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
