More than $900 was raised for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Patrick County during Cup of Ambition Day, a community fundraiser held Sept. 25 by the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce and Stagecoach Coffee.
The event encouraged residents to “Give Like Dolly” through coffee purchases, cash donations and online contributions to support the program, which provides free books to participating children each month.
“Patrick County continues to show that when we come together, we can make a real difference for our children,” said Rebecca Adcock, executive director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce. “Every dollar raised helps us keep Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library available to families in our community and ensures that more children have the opportunity to grow up surrounded by books.”
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides participating children with a free, age-appropriate book each month. The program is supported through state reimbursement and local fundraising.
The chamber thanked Stagecoach Coffee, Uptown Stagecoach, Rotary Club of Stuart and STEP Inc. for helping make the event possible, along with residents and visitors who contributed.
Organizers said they look forward to holding the fundraiser again next year.
