The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar tennis team lost to Martinsville 3-6 last Tuesday afternoon in Martinsville.

Helen Dawson and Ashton Young were the only Lady Cougars to win matches; they won their singles matches as well as their #3 doubles match.

The scores were:

Singles: #1-Vickie Easley def Kristen Epperson (PC) 8-0; #2-Brie Thurman def Shyann Walter (PC) 8-0; #3-Lynn Dietrich def Gracen Baliles (PC) 8-2; #4-Jenise Draper def Hannah Martin (PC) 8-6; #5-Helen Dawson def Jennifer Becerra (PC) 8-0; #6-Ashton Young (PC) def Chandi Patel 8-0.

Doubles: #1 Easley/Draper def Epperson/Martin (PC) 8-2; #2-Thurman/Dietrich def Baliles/Martin (PC) 8-4; #3-Dawson/Young (PC) def Becerra/Patel 8-1.

The Lady Cougars are to play four matches this week. Monday and Tuesday they host Floyd and Halifax, respectively. Thursday, they host George Washington of Danville and Friday, the Lady Cougars travel to Bassett.
