Wasena Paul Conway, 78, of Bassett, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2019. He was born on December 12, 1940 to the late Paul Payton Conway and the late Wanda Katherine Turner Conway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Handy.
Wasena was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a former member of Orchard Drive Baptist Church where he was on the Board of Trustees, the Property and Space Committee, Chairman of the Transportation Committee, and a greeter on Sunday mornings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Faralina Conway; son Tony Nash Wright (Angie) of Bassett; daughter, Darlene Merrett of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Teresa Handy of Raleigh, N.C.; grandsons, Jonathan Ratliff (Brittany) of Wellington, Fla. and Austin Nash Wright of Bassett; granddaughter, Abigail Nicole Wright of Bassett; great-grandsons, Cameron Ratliff and Christian Ratliff.
