Howard Lee Lawson, 64, of Bassett, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was born in Patrick County on September 1, 1951 and was a son of the late Raymond C. Lawson and Frances Meeks Lawson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond C. Lawson Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Alice H. Lawson; sons, Billy Bowers, Charlie Bowers, Ronnie Bowers, Jeffrey Bowers and Dewey Bowers; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Turner; and two nieces.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 29 at the Lawson family cemetery with Pastor Rick Randall officiating.
