Charlotte Anne Davis, 59, of Martinsville, died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at her home. A native of Henry County, she was born on August 27, 1959, a daughter of the late William Alton Davis and Emma Susan Tatum Davis.

Charlotte was a 1977 graduate of Drewry Mason High School and a graduate of Radford University.  She worked in social services positions, with her most recent employer being Horizons of Patrick County, where she was known for her Christian witness to those with whom she came in contact. Charlotte was a talented athlete who enjoyed playing softball in her youth. She was a long-time dedicated worker of the Front Porch Festival, which raised support for the local food bank and for the Caring Hearts Free Clinic in Patrick County. Charlotte was also devoted to her different dogs over the years, as they were to her.

She is survived by her brother and sisters Harry Davis, Melissa Thompson, Kathy Diaz, and Pam Caudill, along with their families. She is also survived by many other loving members of her large extended family along with Anita Prutting and other dear friends.

The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, June 26 at 1 p.m. at Rich Acres Christian Church where Charlotte was a life-long member. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., with the church minister, Tim Hunt, officiating.

Memorials may be made to Rich Acres Christian Church, 422 Mountain View Road, Martinsville, Virginia 24112 or to the SPCA, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, Virginia 24112.
