Surry Community College will be offering a 3-D Modeling course for beginners starting May 24 and running through August 4 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. in the K-Building, Surry Community College, 630 S. Main Street, Dobson, N.C.
This training is geared toward machinists, fabricators, manufacturers, and small businesses. Students will create 3D models of their designs/products and test for fit, form, and function before spending valuable time manufacturing a product that may not fit together. Studies will include basic 3D modeling techniques using Solid Edge ST8, design-intent, file management, and design theory among other topics.
This course will prepare students to take the Solid Edge Certification Exam and become an officially certified solid edge professional. Pre-registration and pre-payment of $127 are required. Tuition assistance may be available for qualified applicants through Surry Skill-UP.
