Spirithaven Farm will become a mecca of music and nature lovers, friends and fest goers when Front Porch Fest 11 gets underway on Thursday, Aug. 29.
A lineup of performers are scheduled to take the stage, including Donna The Buffalo, The Larry Keel Experience, Dangermuffin, The Lee Boys, Folk Soul Revival, Yarn, Big Daddy Love and more before the fest ends on Sunday, Sept. 1.
The event started as a group of friends getting together to celebrate a weekend together. From there, the idea continued to evolve and grow. The present day fest celebrates community and talent, whether national, regional or locally.
Maggie Blankenship, of Woolwine and a Patrick County native, also will be taking the stage.
“This festival is very special to me because it’s like a big family gathering with a little extra love and good times,” Blankenship said. “The passion the staff has to bring great live music to Patrick county really shines through their dedicated work.”
She will be serenade the crowd with her cover of rock songs but with her own folk genre twist.
The festival is hosted by One Family Productions, a group which taps proceeds from the festival to benefit the community by contributing to several agencies/projects each year.
Spirithaven Farm is a relaxing place to glimpse deer, peafowl and all sorts of critters. The farm also has camping sites available for festival-goers.
From yoga and healing circles to barn quilt painting classes and an area dedicated to youngsters, the event offers something for everyone at ticket prices that range from $20 to $120.
