Girl Scout Troop #1302 held their bridging ceremony at Providence United Methodist Church Monday August 12. At this ceremony, three Daisy Scouts bridged (advanced) to Brownie Scouts. These scouts were Jada Hylton, Gabby Johnson and Alaina McBride. The troop also includes 21 other members who are Daisies, Brownies and Senior Scouts.
The troop meets on the second and fourth Mondays at Providence United Methodist Church; leaders of this troop are Dee Ragsdale and Mary Handy.
The scouts are involved in many activities throughout the year such as a Lock-In, Camporee, Thinking Day, Girl Scout Birthdays, Literacy Day, a Christmas Parade and many other events. The scouts are gearing up for their fall sale season of nuts and candy, and will visiting homes and communities across Patrick County. The coveted cookie sales will begin in January and will be sold via call and pop-up stands throughout the county. The Girl Scouts extend a grateful thank you to everyone who supports their mission.
