Johnny and Mary Epperson Burge were honored at a 50th wedding anniversary reception in April, 2019 given by their three daughters known locally as the “Burge Girls.” (Johnny is formerly from Patrick County, a graduate of Stuart High School. Mary is formerly from Stokes County in the Francisco area, a graduate of North Stokes High School.) The reception was held at their church, Hope Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall in Fredericksburg with many family and friends attending. A program highlighting the drive decades of life events was presented by several of the older ten grandchildren. Their children and grandchildren are: Ginni and Lee Phillips, Averi, Trucker and Aidareece, Erica and Wade Tanner, Jonah, Lydia, Jude and Eden, Amanda and Tom Meade, Hannah, Thomas and Cora. There were numerous celebrations throughout the year including a stay at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.
