Glenn Maynard Meeks, 69, of Fairystone Church Loop, Stuart, died Saturday, May 21, 2016.
He was born on September 12, 1946, in Franklin County and was a son of the late John Meeks and the late Ocie Cannaday Meeks. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Hicks.
He was a dedicated member and devoted deacon of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Clara M. Meeks; two sons, Tony Meeks and Christopher Meeks; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Irene Allred and Carolyn Roark; and one brother, Arnold Meeks.
The family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where the funeral will follow at noon with the Rev. Charles Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Cannaday Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Mountain View Baptist Church, 1131 Brentwood Drive, Collinsville, VA 24078.
