Marvin Lee Hall, 84, of Bassett, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Patrick County on May 18, 1932, to the late Wilbert Hall and the late Weda Thomas Hall. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Hall and Maynard Hall; and a grandchild, Brownie Williamson.
He retired from Bassett Chair after working 43 years.
He is survived by two children, Becky Boyd of Danville and Patricia Lowery of Bassett; three stepchildren, Josie Foley of Stuart, Rosemary Carmichael of Fieldale and Lorene Robertson of Kentucky; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Hall of Bassett; and former wife, Maxine Hall.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Leonard Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Henry Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Free Worship Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Leonard Hall, 960 Oakcrest Circle, Bassett, VA 24055.
