obit Tatum, Aubrey
Aubrey Lee Tatum, age 93, of Stuart, died Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Stuart.
He was born in Patrick County on September 11, 1922, and was a son of the late Russell Tatum and Hester Boaz Tatum. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Johnnie Tatum.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had retired from Clark Brothers Construction Co. He was well known throughout the county for his raising and selling of sweet potatoes.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mildred Hazelwood Tatum of the home; two brothers, Ralph Tatum of Stuart and Donald Tatum of Florida; one sister, Ruby Gregory of Rutherfordton, N.C.; and several very special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Wayne Moore and Mike Morrison officiating. Due to inclement weather, the burial will be held at a later date. A flag presentation will be performed by the Patrick County Veterans’ Memorial Honor Guard at the funeral home.
