Robert and Donna Cohen of Lake Luzerne, N.Y., and formerly of Centreville, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Courtney A. Cohen, to James Mangrum, son of Bobby and Amy Mangrum of Woolwine.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Stanley Cohen and Leanore Cohen of Bethesda, Md., and James Childs and Alice Childs of Vienna.
The bride-elect earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Virginia Tech and is a research scientist in viral immunology at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases in Frederick, Md.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Bobby J. and Winifred Mangrum of Stuart and Hubert and Evadell Lyon of Woolwine.
He earned an undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and is a civil engineer for McDonough Bolyard Peck in Columbia, Md.
An October wedding is planned.
