Robert Lee Richardson, Jr., died May 28, 2016, in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he had lived since 1992.
He was born in Stuart on August 17, 1940, to Robert L. Richardson Sr., and Carolyn Haynes Richardson.
Bob graduated from Stuart High School in 1958 and earned degrees from Mars Hill College, Wake Forest University, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Vanderbilt University. He retired from Carolinas Healthcare Systems, where he had been a chaplain and chaplain educator.
Earlier in his career he taught at Belmont College, Atlantic Christian College, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Joy Harvey Richardson of Charlotte, and his brothers, James Claude Richardson of Savannah, Ga., and Paul Akers Richardson of Birmingham, Ala.
