Several members of Boy Scout Troop 69 attended the Scout Camporee at Jamison Mill Park, Henry, Virginia.
Scouts attending met the requirements for the Fishing and Fly Fishing Merit Badges. Their weekend consisted of an opening flag ceremony, learning about hazards to avoid and safety practices to follow, how to treat common health concerns while fishing, fishing regulations, Habitat and feeding discussion and hands on demo. The Scouts learned about various lures, baits and flies. They enjoyed fishing time and casting games.
Scouts also participated in a Fishing Gear Demo. The Scouts actively participated in Leave No Trace and The Outdoor Code. All activities followed by a dinner, closing ceremony and campfire.
