Homestead Hikers see view on top of Buffalo

Fourteen members of the Homestead Hikers have another notch on their belts—Buffalo Mountain in the summertime.
In an effort to enjoy the 50-mile vista during each of the seasons, the hikers followed the 2015 winter hike with a perfect day of summer sun and cool breezes. A wide variety of wildflowers in bloom welcomed the hikers along the one-mile trail before all were rewarded with a spectacular view from atop the mountain which surveys Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.
Lunch and photo opportunities at the top were enjoyed by everyone.
The Homestead Hikers will be on the Window Falls Trail at Hanging Rock State Park for the July 10 hike being led by Kurt and Norma Bozenmeyer. Anyone interested in joining as a member or as a guest can contact homesteadhikers@gmail.com or visit the group on Facebook.
