Call for Griffith to step down

I am writing to express my disappointment in Congressman Griffith’s decision to continue to challenge the legitimacy of the 2020 Presidential election, even after the results were investigated by the courts and no evidence of fraud was found.

Many in the 9th district have long trusted and respected our Congressman. That is why his misleading actions and perpetuation of disinformation is so disturbing. By disregarding the rule of law, Mr. Griffith has exploited his constituents’ trust. He has attacked the integrity of every poll worker and election official, many of whom are senior citizen volunteers that spend long days of service to ensure our free and fair elections and put themselves in harm’s way during the pandemic.

Mr. Griffith knows that this election was secure and the idea that the election was stolen is baseless and without merit. Therefore, he owes an apology to the good people of the 9th and should do the right thing by stepping down, as we can no longer look to him for honest leadership.

Lynn Chipkin,

Woolwine
