Blood drive

Yippee! We broke out of the 30s again, Patrick County. Forty-two blood units were donated and with goal of 39. That translates to helping as many as 126 people.
That was a pleasant surprise coming back from my month-long hiatus. We visited our nation’s capital (my birthplace) over the 4th of July weekend.
We had a full complement of Red Cross staff and one double-red machine. I noticed that the Red Cross used a few of our donors for training purposes. If you were one of those donors, thank you for your patience.
Thanks to all the donors who took time out of their day to do their part to help others in need.
Dedicated volunteers working during the blood drive were Laura Citrano, Noel Honeyman, Michelle Boyd, Patty Brunner, Pauline Tatum, and Everett Rakes. Please wish Pauline a happy birthday. She was selfless to celebrate her birthday by volunteering at the blood drive.
Thank you to Sheppard’s Body Repair, a second-year sponsor, for sponsoring this month’s blood drive. Please stop by to say thanks to Eric and Lisa.
Next month’s scheduled sponsor is Norris Funeral Home.
Next month’s blood drive is scheduled on Tuesday, September 6 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Rotary Field in the John D. Hooker Memorial Building in Stuart.
Please consider giving blood. Make a difference in your life as well as in the lives of others.
Thank you again, Patrick County, for making August blood drive a success!
