A beginning genealogy class will be held at the Patrick County Library beginning on Thursday, August 11. The class will be offered weekly from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at no charge to the public.
Ruby Asbury, who has over 30 years of experience doing genealogy for herself and others, will be teaching the class. Asbury has previously served as the director at the Eden, N.C., Family History Center.
Participants will learn how to document their research and how to preserve their family photos and stories. Classes will focus on research materials and web sites that are free to the public.
