Mitch Sheppard was the winner of the drawing of the week-long AG Trivia Contest sponsored by the Patrick County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee in cooperation with WHEO Radio 92.7 FM & 1270 AM this week in observance of 2021 Virginia Agriculture Literacy Week. Sheppard received a $25 Lowes Foods Gift Card along with many other goodies.
On behalf of the committee and farm bureau, Sandra Heath, committee chair would like to publicly thank everyone who participated this week and to Stephen Walker and WHEO and The Enterprise for their support.
Also in observance of Agriculture Literacy Week, the Patrick County Farm Bureau is also donating this year’s Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom Book of the Year “How Did That Get in My Lunchbox” by Chris Butterworth to county-wide elementary schools and the Patrick County Public Library.
“This book takes a unique peek inside a student’s lunchbox and shares the true farm-to-table journey,” said Tammy Maxey, Virginia AITC programs director. “Readers can visit farms around the country to learn the source of some of their favorite foods—from fruits and vegetables, to sandwiches and desserts.”
