Blood Drive a success

Thank you, Patrick County. You donated 36 units of blood last week, which translates to helping as many as 108 patients with medical issues.

Thank you, donors, for being patient with the Red Cross staff as they were under-staffed and must follow rigid COVID-19/Red Cross guidelines to ensure the safety of all.

And thank you to Sheppard’s Body Repair for their long-time support of the Patrick County Blood Drive.

Thank you, volunteers. You are the ones who make your donation experience as pleasant as possible. Volunteers take time out of their schedule to help donors through the general process of donation. This month’s volunteers were Patty Brunner, Denise Clark, William Hines, Betty Holt, and Judy Sanburn.

Please remember that the American Red Cross encourages donors to make an appointment for your time to donate via redcross.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins are welcome, but please know that your donation might take longer as those with appointments are accommodated first.

Next month’s blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the John D. Hooker Building in Stuart.

Gene Stirewalt,

Stuart
