George Leonard Trent, 84, of Patrick Springs, VA died on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on March 25, 1937, to the late George Goode Trent and Ivory Shough Trent. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Ricky Trent, and one brother, Gene Trent.
He was a long-time member of Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church, loved the outdoors, riding bikes, fishing in early years, washing and waxing his cars, traveling with Bruce, sung and played the guitar with the Trent family for many years in the area and loved to eat.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene Trent of the home, one son, Bruce Trent (Gina) of San Simon, AZ, daughter-in-law, Kathy Trent of Patrick Springs, VA, one sister, Nancy Greer (Perry) of Patrick Springs, VA., two brothers, Maynard “Hoss” Trent (Vernel) of Patrick Springs, VA, Cecil Trent (Linda) of Patrick Springs, VA, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6th at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Dr. Marion Poythress and Dr. David Sparks, and other ministers officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
