Voters will be going to the polls to participate in dual primaries on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
All polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Since it is a dual primary, officers of election must determine in which primary election the voter wishes to vote in.
The voter will be asked if they wish to vote in the Democratic Party Primary or the Republican Party Primary.
All those who are qualified to vote may vote in either primary, but they cannot vote in both. The choice to vote in a party’s primary does not mean that the voter will be “registered” with that party. Virginia does not register by party.
A sample ballot is printed in this newspaper showing the names of the candidates.
A list of polling places is on Page 2.
Voters are also reminded to bring an acceptable form of identification with them on Election Day, as Virginia law requires that all voters present an acceptable form of identification when voting.
A registered voter needing to vote early may do so in person in the Registrar’s Office, located at the Patrick County Veterans’ Memorial Building, 106 Rucker St, Rm 216C, Stuart, VA 24171.
The office is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The final day for early voting is Saturday, June 5 at 5 p.m. For additional information, contact the Registrar’s Office at 276-694-7206.
