Rise and Shine Market, Patrick County’s youth-led makers and growers’ market, will be held twice this summer.
The markets will be held at the Stuart Farmers’ Market between 9 a.m. and noon on July 10 and August 7. Mark your calendar now to make sure you come out and sample the markets that will feature a variety of food items including fresh eggs, tomatoes, peppers, chow chow, fresh meats, and jams.
Other items like goat’s milk soap and lotions, braided anklets, friendship bracelets, and necklaces will also be available. Baked goods and sweet treats will be available including fresh baked cookies and other items! Handmade soaps in heavenly scent combinations, a variety of slime, painted rock magnets, wool dryer balls, painted signs, and other amazing kid-made products will be available at the market to provide a great shopping experience for all.
The Rise and Shone Market was developed through AIR Patrick County and has become a sustainable program through Patrick County 4-H. Its goal is to cultivate young Appalachian entrepreneurs and provide an inspiring and encouraging venue to showcase their talents and trades.
