Yvonne Williams Clark passed away June 29, 2021, with family in Patrick County, Virginia. She was 83.
Yvonne was born November 27, 1937, in Stuart, Virginia to Clarence Woodrow and Edith Williams followed by three younger siblings, Wesley, Jack, and Sandra. She is survived by her brother, Jack Williams, and wife Lisa, and sister Sandra Harris also of Stuart. She graduated from Stuart High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Post Office from 1974-2004.
Yvonne started her postal career in Tipton Tennessee after moving there in 1969 and returned home to Stuart, VA after accepting a position as a Postal Clerk in 1983. She and her family lived in the home her father built, a special source of pride and belonging, as multiple generations congregated at this residence throughout the years. Yvonne loved to travel and always dreamed of seeing new places. She especially enjoyed a Carnival cruise she took with her husband in October of 2000, to the Bahamas.
Yvonne possessed a strong faith in the Lord as a child at Stuart Baptist Church and sang duets in the choir with her husband Ray Clark, Sr. She served in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Club (CPW) at the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Atoka, Tennessee until moving back to Patrick County. She was acutely skilled at caring for others and attended to many ailing relatives throughout her lifetime. She took great pride in her four sons and their accomplishments, and oftentimes shared stories about them with others, discussing the organizations and sports they were involved with, as well as their service to their country in the U.S Navy, Postal Service, the state of VA and U.S Army.
Yvonne is proceeded in death by her husband of 60 years Ray Lee Clark, who passed away on June 18, 2017. She is survived by her sons, Ray L. Clark Jr. and wife Denise, Blaine Clark and wife Denise, Woodie Clark and wife Kim, Jonathan Clark, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing at Moody Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 13th from 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held, Wednesday, July 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Stuart Presbyterian Church followed by interment at Sycamore Baptist Church.
