Mr. Junior David Holt, age 89 of Stuart, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on August 2, 1931 to the late David Crockett Holt and Cora Lawson Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Essie Wood, Eva Collins, Nellie Holt; Irene Rigney; and three brothers, Charles Holt, Paul Holt, and Lester Holt. Junior was of the primitive Baptist faith and never met a stranger.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 62 years, Mozelle Doss Holt of the home; one daughter, Lynn and fiancé, Terry Glenn of Stuart; two grandchildren, Latisha Blue and wife, Jessica, Anthony Penn; three great grandchildren, Cortez Patton Penn, Emory Blue, Mayana Penn; one sister and a brother-in-law, Frances and Allen Koger of Patrick Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elders Gary Lowe and Jerry Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. His body will lie in state on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 2 to 5 p.m..
