The Patrick County Tourism Advisory Council (TAC) will meet in Fayerdale Hall at Fairy Stone State Park at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend. A Zoom link will be posted on the Friends of Patrick County Facebook group closer to the date for those who cannot attend in person.
The Fairystone/Pole Bridge Community Crime Watch meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Fairystone Fire Department. Sheriff Dan Smith will discuss office operations and changes in the past year.
Friday, Aug. 20
The Woolwine United Methodist mobile food pantry will be at Howell’s Furniture Store from 3 to 5 p.m.
The scheduled showing of Rock Castle Home at the Motorsports Auditorium on Friday, August 20 has been postponed until further notice. The Reynolds Homestead and the Patrick County Historical Society will announce a new date as soon as it is safe to do so.
Saturday Aug. 21
Stuart High School Reunion will be held at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church in Patrick Springs. Door opens at 2 p.m., covered dish meal begins at 4 p.m.
The Robert “Bob” and Mae Shough Family Reunion will start at 12:30 p.m. at the Fairystone Fire Department. Family and friends should bring a covered dish, drink, and family pictures and stories to share.
The Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department, located at 6687 Fairystone Park Highway, will hold a country breakfast from 6:30 to 10 a.m. The dine in prices are $8 for an adult plate and $4 for a child plate. All to go plates are $8 each. Call in orders can be made by calling 276-930-2113.

Dominion Valley Park will hold a Labor Day Weekend event, with music performances starting at 5:30 p.m. each day. The cost of admission is $25 for each day, or $40 for a two-day pass. The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold the monthly jackpot bingo. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with concessions (hotdogs, chips, candy, popcorns, soft drinks, and water) ready and games start at 6 p.m. The anticipated jackpot is $800 and grows $100 each month until won. Regular payout is $50 per game and $150 coverall payout. Game sets are sold for $20 each, which includes two door prize tickets. Additional sets and door prize tickets can be purchased. Coverall games are sold for $5 each.
