Organizers of the Woolwine October Festival, set for Oct. 8, are seeking volunteers to help with the apple-peeling and making fried apple pies and apple butter.
On Wednesday, Oct. 5, volunteers are needed for the community apple-peeling starting at 8 a.m. Lunch will be provided.
On Thursday, Oct. 6, volunteers are needed from 4 a.m. to start making apple butter, and at 8:30 a.m., to make fried apple pies in the cottage. Lunch will be provided.
On Friday, Oct. 7, volunteers are needed to make apple butter for the festival.
The annual Woolwine October Festival will begin at 10 a.m. and end at approximately 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department grounds.
Admission is free. Music will be provided by the Friday Night Band, the Dry Hill Draggers, and Rorrer Brothers and Son.
Activities will include music, dancing, apple butter sale, crafts and a variety of food, including hot dogs, fried apple pies, baked goods, beverages and food from the Texas Smoke Wagon.
