The Patrick County High School Lady Cougar volleyball team improved its record to 9-1 after picking up three wins last week. All three wins came in three-set victories.
Monday night the Lady Cougars traveled to North Stokes to beat the Lady Vikings 25-22, 25-13 and 25-21.
Sydney Biggs had eight kills, four aces and 11 digs. Senior Hanna Hylton and Morgan Biggs each had seven kills, and Abby Hutchens had 10 kills. Melanie Roberson had 17 assists and three aces. Sydney Kirk had 12 assists and one ace.
In the junior varsity contest against North Stokes, Patrick County won in two sets, 27-25 and 25-22. Sara Caine had five kills and Ashlee Mesot had five assists; Jenny Turner added four digs.
Tuesday, the Lady Cougars hosted Halifax and defeated the Lady Comets 25-21, 25-21 and 25-21.
Abby Hutchens led scorers with 21 kills. Sydney Biggs had three kills and four aces. AK Scruggs and 13 digs and two aces while Melanie Roberson picked up 24 assists and two aces.
The Magna Vista Lady Warriors entered the Cougar gym Thursday night and went home with three straight losses, 25-15, 25-14 and 25-13.
Abby Hutchens had 12 kills while Sydney Biggs added six and collected 10 digs. Hanna Hylton had nine kills. Melanie Roberson tallied 13 assists and five kills while Sydney Kirk added 12 assists.
The Lady Cougars hosted Carroll County Monday night and will travel to Martinsville Thursday for a 7 p.m. match.
