We find in Psalms 125 the people of Israel praising God for His goodness and grace, thanking Him for His mercy. The people were able to sing praises to God because He had proven time and time again that He would provide protection and provision. Because of His impeccable track record, they were confident that He would continue providing grace, mercy, provision, and protection. “Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion they will not be defeated but will endure forever.” (Psalm 125:1 NLT)
God is omnipotent. He is all-powerful. God has supreme power; there is nothing He cannot do. God will make sure we are continually protected. “For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands, so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.” (Psalms 91:11-12 NLT)
God is omniscience. God knows everything. He knows everything including the past and future.
God is omnipresent. He is everywhere. His presence surrounds us every day. He is there when we are weak; he is there when are strong; he is there when are confused, depressed, happy, sad, broke, rich, prosperous – He is always present. We can rely on the fact that He is here, there, and everywhere. “Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, both now and forever.” (Psalm 125:2 NLT)
As Christians, Believers, we will face trials and tribulations. No one ever said that the life of a Believer is easy. We will get overwhelmed and at times feel defeated. God ensured that we would constantly be reminded of His presence through the Holy Spirit. By the words of Jesus, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you” (John 14:16). “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13 NLT).
God said He will protect those who trust Him. He assured that when those that trust and believe him call Him, He will answer. He will be with us in the time of trouble and rescue us. He surrounds us and promises a reward of long life and salvation (Psalm 91:14-16).
