It was a difficult night for the Patrick County High School Lady Cougar volleyball team when the Franklin County Lady Eagles came to town last Thursday night. The Lady Eagles won the match in five sets, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22, 17-25, 5-15.
The Lady Cougars maintained control of the first and third sets for most of the time; however, the Lady Eagles managed to run several streaks in the second and fourth sets that PC just could not overcome.
The Lady Cougars just looked fatigued in the final set, losing 5-15.
Abby Hutchens had 18 kills, five aces and nine digs. Sydney Biggs had eight kills, seven aces and 19 digs, while Melanie Roberson had 21 assists and two aces. AK Scruggs added 14 digs.
The Lady Cougars are now 16-3 on the season.
Tuesday night the Lady Cougars traveled to Magna Vista and won in three straight sets, 25-14, 25-17 and 25-22.
Abby Hutchens had 12 kills, two blocks and six digs while Melanie Roberson added 17 assists, three aces and three digs. Sydney Biggs had five kills and five aces.
The Lady Cougars played Martinsville at home Tuesday night.
