Samuel “Sam” Timothy Barnes, 71, of Stoneville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016, at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, N.C. Interment was in Patrick Memorial Gardens in Patrick Springs.
Mr. Barnes was born in Eden on April 30, 1944, a son of Robert and Nellie Sharpe Barnes, both deceased. He was retired from Arnold Barnes Logging Co.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Barnes, Jake Barnes, Larce “Bo” Barnes, and Robert “Shorty” Barnes.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Cassady Barnes of the home; a daughter, Mindy Funk and husband Dustin of Gardnerville, Nev.; his grandchildren, Sterling, Haley and Audrey Funk; his loving pets, Molly, Sadie Petey; and several nieces and nephews.
