I attended the most recent meeting of the Patrick County Board of Supervisors. The public session agenda items were basketball goals (“my grandkids played there”), dead dogs and cows (legal advice required), rehash of paving Belcher Mountain Road (“liar, liar pants on fire”), junk cars and buses (“bring ‘em on”).
The discussion of these agenda items took two hours. No public agenda time was spent on matters such as explanation/use of meals tax, financial results compared to budget of Patrick County for the first quarter FY 2017 or on a plan to implement a 24/7 EMS service.
