The Patrick County High School fishing team had a great 2015-2016 fishing season. The Bass Nation Virginia High School John Crews Elite Top 20 High School Teams in the state were just named and PCHS had four teams in the top 15.
These teams consist of schools from the Bass High School Northern and Southern divisions. A total of 40 teams competed regularly last season.
School officials and coaches offer congratulations to Travis Walker and Hylton Scott, first place, 49.77 pounds; Logan Reynolds and Levi Carter, sixth place, 33.08 pounds; Alex Plasters and Wesley Hudson, 11th place, 25.67 pounds; and Chase Smith and Brent Hylton, 13th place, 24.32 pounds.
The top 15 teams will be recognized in Richmond January 20 and 21, 2017, at the Richmond Fishing Expo.
Coaches congratulate these PCHS fishing team members on all of their hard work and great accomplishments last season.
These fishermen could not have succeeded without the help of the many boat captains that help the fishing team throughout the season or the many people who donate money to the team all year.
The 2016-2017 season has started and PCHS has had two Junior State qualifiers this fall. The team is off to a great start in the Southern Division, finishing first as team in both tournaments over Bassett , Magna Vista and CHS.
This year the county is fortunate to have an 11-14 year old group of young anglers .They are also doing well at the beginning of the season.
Coaches again thank all of the boat captains and donors, since without these people none of this would be possible and they are forever in your debt.fishing-picture-4 fishing-picture-3 fishing-picture-2 fishing-picture-1
