The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

Inside yard sale, to benefit the Patrick County High School Band Boosters and the Marching Cougar Band, will be held at Rotary Field from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. To donate, please contact the school.
Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold a Fab Lab Family Day with 3D Doodler Pens at the Patrick County Fab Lab from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net or calling 276-656-5461.
The Back to School with Mannafest Youth Rally will be held at Dominion Valley Park. Doors open at 4 p.m. There will be free food, worship, laser tag, inflatables, water games, and more. Patrick County High School (PCHS) Praise & Worship, Winston United Worship, and Billy Wayne Arrington are set to perform.

The Vesta/Meadows of Dan Alzheimer’s Group will meet at the Vesta Community Building at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Sheriff Dan Smith talking about the bracelets the Sheriff’s Office provides to patents and the safety of the group’s clients. Stephanie Laprade from Southern Agency on Aging will be speaking on Safety. Dinner will be served.

The Ararat Ruritan Club will have its monthly Jackpot Bingo with doors opening at 5 p.m. and games starting at 6 p.m. Coverall Jackpot is $500 if won within 53 draws. If won in 54 draws or more the prize is $150. All 20 regular games payout $50. Concessions including hotdogs, chips, candy, popcorn, nachos, soft drinks, and water will be available.

At 10 a.m. Aaron McAlexander will hold a talk on the real Mayberry at Mayberry Church and from 12-2 p.m. the Country Boys will perform at the Meadows of Dan Community Center. From 2-4 p.m. the Rock Castle Ramblers and flatfooting will be at the Meadows of Dan Community Center.

The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold a program about the Dinky Railroad from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local author Tom Perry will give a presentation about the history of the railroad. The club is asking people who have information or artifacts to bring them and talk during the second hour. After that, Chip Bondurant will lead a tour across the Porter Bondurant Farm, where the railroad crossed after lunch. Donations for the Perry Family Scholarship will also be accepted.
The LifeSpring Center will feature Dr. John Kelly as he presents “Lifestyle, Genetics, Gene Switches, and Longevity.” A light suppler will be served at 5 p.m. and Kelly will continue to speak at 6 p.m. To reserve a space, call Betty Dean at 276-694-4775.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle.
