Experienced, and patient, rug hookers will be on hand to teach the essentials of this traditional craft at Ferrum College on Saturday, November 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Held at the college’s Blue Ridge Institute and Museum, participants will be taught how to create a block-sized project, using a pre-printed design or by drawing one of their own. No special talents with a needle are required for this workshop. All supplies, including the wool, are included with the $35 fee. Preregistration is required.
“Rug Hooking” is part of the “Blue Ridge Farm Series” at Ferrum College’s Blue Ridge Institute and Museum, the State Center for Blue Ridge Folklore.
