Harvest Worship Center’s Fellowship Hall will offer Labor Day refreshments from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The menu includes hot dogs for $1.50, chips for $1, drinks for $1, and desserts ofor $1. The church is located at 21225 JEB Stuart Hwy.

Stuart United Methodist Church will hold a Coffee, Conversation, and Presentation on “Fayerdale the Missing Town” by Danny Martin at 10 a.m. The church is also collecting clean, towels, sheets, and blankets for the animal shelter.
The Patrick County Blood Drive will be held from 1:30-6 p.m. at the John D. Hooker Building at Rotary Field. The American Red Cross encourages donors to make an appointment for your time to donate via the internet at redcross.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins are welcome.

The 20th Ken Adams Memorial Patrick County Toy Run will benefit the Patrick County Christmas Cheer program. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairy Stone Volunteer Fire Department and riders will leave at 1 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee and the event is open to all types of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Critz Baptist Church will hold a Homecoming at 10:30 a.m. There will be a special speaker and music and a meal after service.

Piedmont Community Services will hold a Patrick County Resource Fair at the Stuart Farmer’s Market from 12-5 p.m. The fair is to help the community learn about the services Piedmont offers including access to mental health services, substance abuse services, school-based services, and others. There will also be games, food trucks, PCS resource stations, door prizes, music, and more.

The Spencer-Penn Centre will hold a Martinsville-Henry County is for Book Lovers Dinner, Trivia, and Silent Auction with an Author at 6 p.m. Attending authors include Lacey Baker, Lisa Dodson, Jenna Jaxon, Nancy Naigle, and more. Stuart United Methodist Church will offer The Circle of Hands from 1:30-3:30 p.m. the first and third Sunday of every month. If it is a holiday weekend, the meeting will be cancelled. Men and women are invited to attend the new group, which offers an opportunity to fellowship, bring a project to work on, or learn a new craft.
The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle.
