Saturday, Sept. 24
The Spencer-Penn Centre will hold a canning event at 9 a.m. for folks that have some experience with canning. All supplies are provided. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members.
The Stuart High School Class Reunion will be held at the Patrick Springs Holiness Church. All classes of SHS are invited to attend, including anyone who attended elementary or high school at Stuart, along with spouses. Doors will open at 2 p.m. with appetizers, and a covered dish dinner will be held around 4 p.m. Masks are not required but may be worn if desired.
Sunday, Sept. 25
The Spencer-Penn Centre will hold a Barn Quilt Class from 1-5 p.m. All supplies will be provided, and the pricing is based on size. The registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 16. Contact the Centre for more details and to register.
Sunday, Sept. 25 – Wednesday, Sept. 28
New Hope Church will hold a revival night at 7 p.m. Marvin Wade will be speaking, and there will be special music each night.
The Smith River Church of the Brethren will have a revival at 7 p.m. each night. Speakers are the Rev. Mike Varner and the Rev. Millard Bryant. A special singing will be held each night, with groups that include The Revelators, Eric Sheppard, Junior and Ramona Cassady and Smith River Choir. All are invited.
Wednesday, Sept. 28
The Patrick County Economic Development Authority (EDA) will meet at 7 p.m. in the Patrick County Administration Office’s third-floor court room.
Friday, Sept. 30
The Stuart Farmers’ Market will hold a monthly Master Gardeners Program. The market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, baked items, eggs, crafts, and more.
Saturday, Oct. 1
The Woolwine UMW will have a yard sale beginning at 7 p.m. in the church social hall. Join for a day of apple butter making and shopping.
Wednesday, Oct. 5
The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce and the Reynolds Homestead will hold ‘Breakfast with your Community Leaders’ at the Hooker Building, 420 Woodland Drive, Stuart. The roundtable event will include brief updates from state and local community leaders on the projects happening in the county. The event will start at 8:30 a.m., and registration is required. The Reynolds Homestead will hold a Tea & Tours for prospective volunteers at 2:30 p.m. at the Homestead.
Wednesday, Oct. 12
The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.
