A coffee, fellowship, and community information session will occur at Stuart United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. with Patrick County Economic Development Director Sean Adkins.
Wednesday, Oct. 5
The Patrick County Chamber of Commerce and the Reynolds Homestead will hold a Breakfast with your Community Leaders event at the Hooker Building at 420 Woodland Drive in Stuart. The roundtable event will include brief updates from state and local community leaders on the projects happening in the county. The event will start at 8:30 a.m., and registration is required. Thursday, Oct. 6
Volunteers for the Woolwine October Festival are needed at 4 a.m. to start making apple butter, and at 8:30 a.m. for fried apple pie making in the cottage. Lunch will be provided.
Friday, Oct. 7
The Woolwine United Methodist Church Food Truck will be at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 8
Patrick County’s 50th annual Lord’s Acre Sale will be held at Rotary Field with doors opening at 7 p.m. Food, baked goods, crafts, and homemade treasures will be available. There will be an auction beginning at 11 a.m. featuring “baskets of goodies” and handmade craft items from each church.
The annual Woolwine October Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department grounds. There is free admission. Music will be provided by Friday Night Band, Jordan T Morrison & The Foothill Boys, and Twin Creeks String Band (formerly Dry Hill Draggers). There will be dancing, music, apple butter, crafts, and more. Craft vendors are welcome at no charge, and those interested may call (276) 229-8241 for more information.

The Thanksgiving service for Lord’s Acre will be held at 7 p.m. at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church. Pennies for the Penny House will be collected at this service.

The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 22
A benefit singing will be held at Sycamore Baptist Church from 6-8p.m. A love offering will be taken with all proceeds to go to help the Kentucky flood victims. Several groups and singers who all attend Sycamore will provide the music. Light refreshments will follow.
